Shop electric sauna heaters sized for home installations from 4.5kW to 12kW. Every heater includes UL certification and clear sizing guidelines. Find wall-mounted stoves, floor models, and complete heater kits with rocks and controls. Get the right heat output for your space.
Electric Sauna Heater Options for Every Room Size
Sauna heater sizing comes down to one thing: matching kW output to your room’s cubic footage. Too small and your sauna takes forever to heat up. Too large and you’re wasting energy and potentially overheating the space.
Most home saunas need between 4.5kW and 9kW. A 6×6 sauna with 7-foot ceilings needs about 6kW. An 8×10 sauna might need 9kW or more. The math isn’t complicated, but it matters. We stock heaters from 4.5kW up to 12kW to cover small barrel saunas through large custom builds.
All our electric sauna heaters run on 240V power. That’s standard for residential installations. Your electrician will need to run a dedicated circuit with proper breaker sizing. We provide electrical specs with every heater so there’s no guesswork during installation.
Not sure what size you need? Contact us with your sauna dimensions and we’ll calculate the right heater capacity.
What’s Included with Our Sauna Heaters
Quality sauna heaters are complete systems, not just heating elements. Here’s what you get:
- Heating Unit: Stainless steel heating elements in UL-listed housing. Built to handle daily use and high temperatures without degradation.
- Sauna Rocks: Volcanic stones included for heat retention and steam generation. These absorb heat and release it gradually for consistent temperature.
- Control Panel: Built-in or external thermostat and timer controls. Set your target temperature and session length. Digital and analog options available.
- Mounting Hardware: Wall brackets for wall-mounted units or floor stands for traditional stove placement. Everything needed for secure installation.
- Safety Guards: Protective rails around the heating elements. Prevents accidental contact with hot surfaces.
Some heaters come as complete kits with all components. Others let you choose controls and accessories separately. Both approaches work—it depends on whether you want a pre-configured system or custom setup.
Choosing Between Wall-Mounted and Floor Sauna Heaters
Wall-mounted heaters save floor space. They’re popular in smaller saunas where every square foot matters. The heater mounts directly to the wall, typically near the door. This keeps the unit out of the way and maximizes usable bench space. Installation requires proper wall reinforcement to support the weight.
Floor models look like traditional sauna stoves. They sit in a corner or against a wall at floor level. Installation is simpler since you’re not mounting weight to the wall. Many people prefer the classic appearance of a floor heater—it’s what you expect to see in a sauna.
Both types deliver identical heating performance when sized correctly. The difference is placement and aesthetics. Wall heaters work better in tight spaces. Floor heaters work better if you want a traditional sauna appearance or an easier installation. Choose based on your sauna layout and what matters to you visually.
Both require proper clearances from walls and benches. Both need adequate ventilation. The heating technology is the same.
